And here's the next batch. Having gone through this batch, I'm starting to think that the Hebrew consonant א (aleph) had a slight "h"-like aspiration as a number of the Japanese counterparts begin with "h" today. I also think that contrary to the current sound for ע (ayin) which in Hebrew today sounds like glottal "a", it actually sounded like "ng" in ancient Hebrew which is why a number of the Japanese counterpart words begin with "n" and others with the consonant in the middle of the word sound like "g" or "k". I'll need to dig into this more, but this is likely the case. Also of note is how the Hebrew consonant ב (bet) has taken the sounds "m", "n", "w", "h" or "k" depending on the placement within the word, along with the actual "b" sound (or in some cases dropped altogether). We know that in Old Japanese the sounds "b" and "p" have taken on the sounds "w" and "h" in modern Japanese. We also see the Urartian influence of confounding "p" and "b" (Bertin 70) as well as "b" and "n" being interchanged. Significant elision was encountered when performing the below mapping. Lastly, Hebrew "sh" in the middle of the word often became "z", "s" or "ts" in Japanese, "ch" became "k", "d" became "ts", "ch", "t", "n" or "r" depending on placement, "q" became "g", "h" has instances of "y". Some of the below mappings are most likely wrong or duplicated, but it's been a good exercise in comparing sound and meaning in both the Hebrew and Japanese languages. It is quite clear that the modern Japanese sounds have gone through significant evolution from the original Hebrew sounds for the course of the ages.
